One of You Shall Betray Me

The inspiration for this cartoon is Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper (c. 1495–1498). In 1984, saw Leonardo’s masterpiece in Milan, a sight I hope to see again. I substituted Trump for Judas in my cartoon. Trump is reaching for a “sop” [a small piece of bread].

“Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon,” John 13:26 KJV.

My initial plan was to position Trump’s hand closer to Uncle Sam’s reaching for the “sop,” but I decided against it because it looked awkward.

In my view, Trump is guilty of war crimes. The crime being a war of aggression against another country without legal justification; and crimes against humanity for the deliberate targeting of civilians. Additionally, believe he committed treason, as defined by Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, by waging war on behalf of a foreign nation (Israel). That’s why Trump is very careful not to call it a war. Believe Trump waged this war against Iran because he’s being blackmailed by Israel. Have no proof of my belief since we haven’t been able to look at files from Mossad Agent Jeffrey Epstein. Even though Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act (H.R.4405) which told the Department of Justice that they had to release all Jeffrey Epstein files to the public. We won’t see those files while Trump is president, and that raises the question of why. In the end, the reason is less important than the fact that Trump created a disaster that wasn’t in America’s best interest and will be difficult to get out of.
